Education

Michael grew up in Western Colorado and attended what was then called Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction, Colorado. After receiving an associate degree he transferred to the University of Colorado, Boulder campus and majored in political science.
As an undergraduate at CU was active in a national service fraternity and sat on a variety of student counsel advisory boards.
He then attended Saint Mary’s University of San Antonio, Texas
As a law student he was elected vice president of the student government and president of local chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, a national law fraternity. Selected to the law school’s law review board. He then attended school in England during the summer of 1976 as part of a Notre Dame Law School program. He graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1977.

Mike grew up in Western Colorado and has always had close personal ties to the community he serves. As such he has always strived to help beyond just his law practice. Service has included:
